* Gas stations can get pretty sparse on the run down so don't push your
luck. Especially make sure you are in good shape at instruction #22.
* This trip should be planned around your lunch at the Hemlock
Lodge! Ride to eat, eat to ride.
* After you come out of the Hemlock Lodge be sure to reset your odo
before you turn back onto 11.
* If you are running short of time after lunch (the route is 184 miles
back to Cincy) you can turn left at 11 instead of right and take this up
to instruction #30 where 11/15 intersects 77. Reset your odo there
and you can resume the trip and have cut out 31 very scenic but slow miles.
* Instruction #43 puts you on 32 into Cynthiana. If you would
like to stop for some pie an excellent restaurant featuring home
cooking cuisine is Bianckes located in the
old part of Cynthiana on 3 South Main St (St Rt 62), phone (606) 234-3443.
They are open until 9 PM on Saturdays BUT they have recently eliminated
their Sunday hours. They recommend Platters for Sunday lunch located at
26 E. Pike Street as a Sunday alternative. Platters is open from
11 to 2 on Sunday and their phone is (606) 234-2998. I have added
a map of downtown Cynthiana locating both restaurants.
