Present the
Rallye de Automne Campagne
(Rally of the Autumn Countryside)
Sports Car Touring Rally
Sunday, October 10, 1999
A Touring rally through the beautiful, autumn countryside of Kentucky.
Approximate
mileage will be 100 miles. The event is intended as an enjoyable drive
over twisty, less
travelled backroads traversing the rural countryside.
The format will be following simple road directions with questions
to be answered from
along the route. No experience is required and any car is eligible
to participate. We
strongly encourage participants to bring out their sports cars, modern
and vintage. Every
car should have a least a driver and co-driver. For scoring of
the competition there will
be a handicap system providing extra scoring points for use of a pre
1979 sports car.
The doors to The Granary will open for registration at 8:00AM, with
a driver’s meeting at
9:00 and the cars leaving at approximately 9:30 AM. A lunch break
will be scheduled in
a small town where food and beverages can be purchased. Cars
will be scheduled back to
The Granary by approximately 4PM where a brats and metts cook-out will
be provided
while the winner is calculated.
Headquartered at The Granary, 530 West 10th St, Newport, Kentucky.
Exit #4
(Memorial Parkway, 1120) off I-471. Go west 1.3 miles to the
end of the road and The
Granary is a century old feed mill at the corner of 10th & Lowell.
